Sacred Trinity & Sex Dog
-
I bought a painting this past week; I don’t think I have ever reported on the likes, it certainly doesn’t happen often if at all as the wants invariably give way to the needs. Its by Sian Superman and it’s called SEX DOG, a small oils on canvass affair that spoke out to me whilst checking Luke Haines paintings on the OUTSIDER ART website.
The allure of the dog to me is uncertain, it’s early days and I’m still not sure I want the Dog or I want the Dog to want me, or indeed I have any choice in the matter given my new role as custodian of its fate…our relationship has only just began, but it feels right. Thank you Sian Superman…this Dog is for life, not just for lust…now best move on.
I played a gig on Friday night in Glossop, nice people; I always enjoy myself there. Caught up with Matt Hill aka QUIETLONER – he’s recording a live album at Sacred Trinity Church this coming Thursday May 10th – details are here, I will be there, it’ll be a great night, come along do.
The OAKWOOD gig was a RASH RECORDS affair, celebrating their compilation release HOME 3 which contains ‘A VISION’ from the current album ‘OTHERPEOPLE LIKE ME’. Its out MAY 14th on RASH RECORDS and can be downloaded here…
My set was something of a personal challenge, the first five songs I did were new, ‘A Song About Fame’, ‘Sunday Afternoon’ and ‘I’m in a Band’ are co writes with BONEHEAD, ‘Catalogue Trousers’ and ‘English Village’ are more old school peculiar, none had been performed before, I got through with minimal fuss give or take the odd lyrical hesitation that no one seemed to too bothered by. That was a relief as it’s not quite as easy to remember the words nowadays I was on late and my healing cracked rib seemed fine at the time – now its kind of regressed back to a constant ache and the act of sneezing is rapidly followed by a little scream [and I said I wasn’t going to mention my health woes, so apologies Teresa, I am if nothing more, a predictable man – so where were you on Friday?]
